Our Story: Serving British Columbia's Boaters Since 1979
We are proud of our long history of serving British Columbia’s boaters and building lasting relationships in each of the communities we work in. What started as one shop in Surrey has grown, over four and a half decades, into three full-service locations along the coast, and the reason we are still here is the same reason we opened our doors in the first place: we want local boaters to get the most out of their time on the water.
Family Owned and Community Focused
As a family owned and operated business, nothing matters more to us than the relationships we build with our customers. That is why our team works to make sure you get exactly what you need, and that you are happy with how you got it. We keep our staff trained on the latest products, engines, and repair techniques so that whoever answers the phone or walks the counter can help, not just point you somewhere else. Many of the people who greet you at our Delta, Prince Rupert, and Sandspit locations have been with us for years, and it shows in how quickly they can diagnose a problem or track down the right part.
How Bridgeview Marine Started
Don McNeice opened Bridgeview Marine in Surrey’s Bridgeview district in 1979 with a simple goal: give local boaters the products and service they needed to own, operate, and maintain a boat with confidence. In 1984, we purchased Lloyd’s Boat Place and moved to River Road in Delta, BC, the location that has anchored our business ever since. Building strong roots there took years of showing up for the same customers season after season, and that is still how we measure success.
Growing Across the Coast
In 1989, Bridgeview Marine became a certified Mercury dealer, one of the developments that pushed us to become one of BC’s leading authorities and suppliers for Mercury, MerCruiser, and Volvo Penta motors, parts, and service. By 2000, we were building relationships throughout BC’s growing fishing lodge business, which led us to open a location in Prince Rupert in 2003 and another in Sandspit in 2004. Those two locations put us closer to boaters working BC’s north coast, where reliable service matters even more given the distances involved.
A New Facility, the Same Values
In 2020, we moved our Delta operation again, this time to a new facility on River Road built to let us provide better service and equipment to our local community. As boat builders, mechanics, and parts suppliers, we are always working to understand what each customer needs and to help them stay afloat, whether that means a same-day repair or a conversation about repowering an aging boat.
The Team Behind Three Decades of Service
Our technicians are factory trained and certified, which is what lets us back up our Mercury dealership with real service capability, including status as a Mercury Repower Headquarters and rapid-response Volvo Penta dealer work. That training covers everything from engine diagnostics and computerized troubleshooting to steering repairs, electrical work, and winterization, so the same team that sells you a boat can maintain it for the life you own it. We also handle warranty repair for other makes and models, custom aluminum fabrication, fibreglass and gelcoat work, and mobile service calls for customers who cannot get their boat to us.
Supporting the Waters We Work In
We have been supporting our local communities since 1979. We back organizations like the Pacific Salmon Foundation, the Sport Fishing Institute, and the Percy Walkus Hatchery, and we sponsor fishing derbies in the communities where we operate. We are huge supporters of marine life and fishing in British Columbia, and putting the community first is not a slogan for us, it is a big part of why our team enjoys coming to work.
